Engr. (Chief) Giandomenico Massari JP. FNSE, SMIEEE, SMASQ

Engr. Giandomenico Massari, the current General Manager of Danelec Limited, an Electrical Engineering Company and Danelec Fze, an Indigenous Transformers Manufacturing Company, is a well-grounded engineer, highly experienced corporate administrator, an accomplished researcher and a philanthropist. As an information technology expert, he has played significant role in the field of electrical and electronic engineering in Nigeria. A lot of institutions, corporate establishments, academics and students have benefited immensely from his wealth of experience in the sphere of engineering.

Massari was born in 1954 in Italy. He attended various schools in Italy, UK and in the United States of America. He obtained his Higher National Diploma (HND) in Marine Engineering in 1974,Ancona, Italy, a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering in 1984 and M.Sc. in Electronic Engineering in 1991 at the Trinity University , UK. He is currently enrolled for a PH Degree in Electronic Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.

Engr. Massari has a vast working experience that traverses several continents. He has worked as an engineer in Italy, USA and Switzerland, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, United States, Canada, and Russia. However, in 1992, the widely traveled Electronic Engineer decided to join Danelec Limited, Port Harcourt.
A highly active man, Engr. Massari belongs to several clubs, societies and professional organization within and outside Nigeria.

In recognition of his contribution towards the advancement of engineering, Engr.   Giandomenico Massari has received several local, national and international honors.

He has presented 56 Technical papers both in National and International Conferences and Seminars.
He acquired the Nigerian Citizenship in 2009 by Naturalization.

Recognition of his contribution to community development in Rivers State, he was honored with a chieftaincy title by Rumuchorlu Community, Ikwerre Nationality, wit the name: “Enyi-oha 1 of Rumuchorlu” in April 2006 and he is a full member of the Rumucholu Council of Chiefs. Ong of Calabar with another Chieftancy title as “Ada Idaha Ke Efik Eburutu”

He was appointed JP (Justice of the Peace) by the Rivers State Government in 2010

Engr.(Chief)  Ndubuisi Benjamin Okorie MOW, MNSE  

Ndubuisi Benjamin Okorie. was born 53yrs ago in Amaokwe Item, Bende LGA Abia State. he graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering of University of Nigeria Nsukka about 27yrs ago.

Engr Okorie isa member of many professional Bodies, including the nigerian society of engineers; council for the regulation of engineering practice in nigeria–coren;association of consulting engineers-acen;international federation of consulting engineers- fidic.

He started his professional carrier with LANDSCOPE CONSULTANTS; a firm of Consulting Engineers here in Ibadan in 1986. He rose to the post of a Partner of the firm in 1994; a position he held for 5years and voluntarily resigned in 1999 to concentrate in nurturing ALBENCON NIGERIA LIMITED; a firm he founded in 1997. Since January 2000 till date he has done so well in collaboration with is Italian Partner nurtured Albencon Nigeria Ltd to her present position as a reputable Civil Engineering Construction Firm. Albencon Nigeria limited has in the last 12years executed various projects both at the state and Federal level and for the World Bank.

Engr Ndubuisi Okorie is also a member of the Advisory Council of LIFEFORTE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, IBADAN.

A lover of sports especially cycling, swimming and lawn tennis.  He is currently the chairman of Oyo State Cycling Association, a patron of the Abia State Cycling Association in 2007; a patron of Sports Writers Association in 2009, member of the CYCLING FEDRATION OF NIGERIA, in June 2009 till date.  His relationship with Cycling started in 1994 when he was appointed the Vice Chairman of Cycling Association then under the Chairmanship of Late Captain Emasuen. he became the Chairman in 2005 and have since then with the assistance of other members of the Board taken Cycling to the enviable position it occupies in Oyo State today. he led Cycling Team from Oyo State to Ogun 2006 where they came second with a difference of only one Bronze from the First position. he led Team Oyo cycling to Kaduna 2008 where they also came second and was the first to win a Gold Medal in any sports in that Festival, a feat they repeated in Lagos 2013. He was part of the Team that led the Nigerian Contingent to the first ECOWAS cycling competition in 2010 and was the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee to the second ECOWAS Tour in 2012.

He has single handedly organized two National Competition under the GREAT BIKE RACE IBADAN in 2008, 2010. In 2012 he organized a meeting in Ibadan sponsored where they agreed to commence a zonal Competition within the South West Zone tagged ODUA CYCLING LEAGUE to be rotated among the States within the South West Zone. The first Odua Cycling Competition was organized and sponsored by him in 2012.

Engr Ndubuisi Okorie is a recipient of award of excellence in sports Administration by the Oyo State Cycling Association, and by the Sports Writers Association, Oyo State in 2009; a distinguished merit award from Oyo SWAN in 2011 and a Patron of the GRASS ROOT SPORTS FEDERATION OF NIGERIA, 2012, Award by TRIBUNE NEWSPAPER, 2007 as one of the 50 Most Distinguished Engineers in Nigeria; AWARD AS A DISTINGUISHED SON OF AMAOKWE ITEM, BY AMAOKWE ITEM WALFARE UNION (DEC. 2009), AWARD FOR EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE, by FORUM FOR GRASS ROOT ENDORSEMENT, ITEM (JAN. 2009), and AWARD FROM ITEM WOMEN IN LAGOS, 2007.A recipient of the prestigious ITEM DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION ANNUAL WARD 2010.

Benjamin Chidoka, OFR

Osita Benjamin Chidoka is currently the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria. He is also the President of the West African Road Safety Organization (WARSO) and President, African Group, International Road Safety Organization (GPA-PRI).

Chidoka obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He thereafter proceeded to the School of Public Policy at George Masson University in the United States of America where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Transport Policy and Logistics. He also holds a certificate in Global Strategy and Political Economy from Oxford University, UK and a Graduate Diploma in Maritime & Ports Management from the National University of Singapore.

During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), he served at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) where he became an Award Winner and subsequently secured automatic employment into the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Abuja. In the course of his service there, he contributed immensely to National Development through his services as the Secretary to the National Committee for the visit of Pope John Paul II to Nigeria in 1998, which earned him Papal commendation. He also served as a member of the Committee For the Review of the Abuja Master plan; Team Leader, Committee For the Drafting of the National Policy on Non-motorised Form of Transportation in Nigeria and was the Assistant Secretary, Committee for the 1999 Military to Civilian Handover, among others.

Before his appointment as the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Corps, he was a Senior Adviser on Government and Business Relations, Mobil Producing Nigeria, a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation. He had earlier served as Personal Assistant to the Minister of State in the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Personal Assistant to the Minister of Transport as well as Special Assistant to the Senior Adviser to the President on Legal Matters.

His leadership of the FRSC has led to the transformation of the Corps to a functional Lead Agency in Road Traffic Administration and Safety Management in the country driven by information and communication technology. This transformation has as its visible impact a 15% reduction in fatalities from 2007 to 2009 and 28% in 2010; increase in fines generation from N524,757,951.24 in 2006 to 1.4billion in 2010; building a reliable offenders’ register and data base of drivers and vehicles in the country, leading to ECOWAS adoption of the Nigerian model in the planned Regional Vehicle Administration Information System (RVAIS) by the West African countries and production of Nigeria Road Safety Strategy (NRSS) 2012-2016.

Under his leadership, the Federal Road Safety Corps won the prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Award in December 2008; the National Productivity Order of Merit Award of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity in October, 2010 and a Certificate of Merit for rendering exceptional service to the International Customs Community by World Customs Organization, January, 2012. In recognition of Osita Chidoka’s enormous contributions to national and community development, he was invested with the traditional title of Ike-Obosi (Strength of Obosi) and a member of Ndi-Ichie, the highest decision making body of Obosi Traditional Council of Anambra State in May, 2009. He bagged the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria Merit Award on 27th November 2010, and the Institute of Logistics Management of Nigeria Fellowship Award in July, 2011.

He was conferred with the Distinguished Alumnus Award for good governance and model on Road Safety by the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Nigeria, Nsukka on 12th November, 2011. And in recognition of his patriotic disposition to his fatherland, he was conferred with Nigeria’s National Honour of Officer of the Federal Republic, OFR by the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR on 14th November, 2011. Osita Chidoka has attracted World Bank assistance on the Safe Corridor Project to the country, which led to the Country Capacity Review sponsored by the Bank with immense benefits to the country in its road safety campaigns.

As an astute believer in cycling who rode on bicycle to the church on his wedding day, Osita, through his Organization, is re-inventing the cycling culture that Nigeria was known before. This efforts led to the Inauguration of the National Stakeholders Committee on Bicycle Transportation in Nigeria in 2011, the committee has worked hard to produce the first ever, National Cycling Policy and Strategy, 2014-2017 which was ratified by Stakeholders during a workshop to mark the maiden National Bicycle Week in November 2013. Today cycling is again becoming a household name in Nigeria. Osita Chidoka in furtherance of his efforts contested and won election into the membership of the Board of Cycling Federation of Nigeria in 2013.

A strong public policy advocate, he has written many articles, essays and delivered speeches in many areas of public policy, road traffic administration and safety management.

Born on 18th July 1971, Osita Chidoka is happily married and blessed with children.

Abubakar M. Potiskum Esq. Born in Kano to the prominent establishment family of Alhaji Mohammed Baba Potiskum, Deputy Police Commissioner (Rtd), in 1962.

Abubakar M. Potiskum has built a successful law and management consulting firm amongst his other business ventures. Mallam Potiskum started his professional career in 1988 as a legal analyst at International Merchant Bank Ltd, as it then was. In 1990 he was recruited as the pioneer legal adviser/company secretary at Liberty Bank Plc where he headed the Corporate Management Group which included the Legal, Company Secretariat, Corporate Affairs, Personnel and Administration Departments.

In 2001 Mal. Potiskum left the services of Liberty Bank Plc, in order to pursue commercial ventures in the private sector by taking up full time Legal Practice and Management Consulting.

During this period, Mal Potiskum was able to build up a client base of Government Ministries and top private corporations, both domestic and international for his consulting firm. In addition Mal. Potiskum also established small to medium scale industries in the food and services sector.

Mal. Potiskum, from his experience has broad spectrum knowledge of an administrator, employer, entrepreneur and a legal practitioner bringing value to any position he holds.

Mal. M Potiskum has a Bachelor and Masters degree in Law, and hold LL.B. Honours, he is Chief Responsibility Officer of Transborder Consulting in Partner with Transborderjuris Consulting.

After his National Youth Service in Ogun State in 1986, Igbinosa worked with Skal Club of Ibadan and organise the Great Bike Race of 1988. He also worked briefly at Adesuwa Grammar School, Benin as a classroom teacher and went back to school for a Master’s Degree in 1990. He completed the Master’s Degree program in a record time of eleven months in 1991. He concluded a Doctor of Philosophy (PHD) program at the University of Benin and was thus awarded a Ph.D in 2000.

Igbinosa was appointed Organising Secretary 1 by the National Sports Commission in 1992 and was deployed to Cycling Association as Secretary General. He managed the Sport from 1992 to 1998 during which he:

  • convinced the Nigeria Breweries plc with good organisation, transparent and prudent management of funds to increase its sponsorship money for the annual Multinal Cycling Championship which was changed from a one day to a ten-day event spread across Nigeria;
  • got Soccer Pools, to sponsor the annual Soccer Pools Cycling Championship which has the highest prize money at that time;
  • attracted Alumaco to undertake the sponsorship of U-18 Cycling Championship;
  • introduced and develop Female cycling in Nigeria and today Nigeria is a leading female cycling nation in Africa with a Gold medal each at the 2003, 2007 All Africa Games and a Silver medal at the 2013 Africa Championship.
  • Considered the potentials of Nigerians in track cycling, the reduction in road events by International Cycling Union (UCI) and the absence of a velodrome at that time, Igbinosa modified all the track events in cycling and adapted it to road so as to keep the sport alive, interesting and attractive to spectators.
  • attended a coaching seminar in Victoria, Canada in 1994 and a Coaching Course at the Australia Institute of Sports in Canberra, Igbinosa prepared the training program and supervised the training of the Nigeria cycling team to the 5th (1995) All Africa games in Zimbabwe. With the quality of training received by the cyclists, Nigeria was able to move from 16th to 4th position in team event and from 20th to 6th in the individual ranking in Africa. With this foundation Nigeria is now one of the leading cycling nations in Africa.

In 1998 Igbinosa was moved from Cycling to Handball. He was in charge of the Sport as Secretary General from 1998 to 2001. His experience in sports administration and technical knowledge of coaching assisted him in redeeming the dwindling fortune of Handball. Through hard work and effective coordination Nigeria Handball with Igbinosa as secretary General:

  • qualified for the first time to participate in the World Male Handball Championship which took place in Egypt in 1999;
  • organised International Handball Federation (IHF) Referee course in Nigeria which increased the number of IHF badge Referee from one to three pairs;
  • emphasis grassroots Handball especially at the youth level with national competitions in IdahKogi State, Markurdi, Benue State, Oleh, Delta state, Benin City, Edo State and Damaturu, Yobe State;
  • supported Kano Pyramids Handball Team to place second at the Africa Club Championship in Cotonou in 2000
  • won the Commonwealth Female Handball Championship in Nairobi, Kenya in October 2000. Abia State Government sponsored the team;

He was deployed to Scrabble Federation of Nigeria in 2001 were he spent only 55 days and was redeployed to International and Technical division, Sports Development Department of the National Sports Commission, Abuja. He was assigned to take charge of budgeting for the department, coordinate international competitions of the Sports Federations and initiate memos.

In 1993 he served as Secretary of the Presidential Committee of the 8th All Africa Games’ Participation Sub-Committee, which Nigeria won for the First time.

With the decision to bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in 2005, Igbinosa was redeployed to the bid Committee where he served as Secretary of the Technical sub Committee. He acted as Secretary of the bid Committee from July to November 2006.

He was a member of the Sports Development Thematic Group of the Vision 20, 20, 20.

He was a member of the Committee that reviewed the National Policy on Sports as well as the National Sports festival Rules and Regulations. He was Secretary of the Technical Sub Committee of the 2006, Abeokuta;2009, Kaduna;2011, Porthacourt, 2011 and Lagos 2012 National Sports Festivals.

He is presently the Head of Elite Athletes development Division in the Department of Federation and Elite Athletes of the national Sports Commission and Secretary of the 19th National Sports Festival (Paradise Games, 2014) Main Organizing Committee (MOC)

DR Emmanuel Igbinosa is an innovative, Visionary, dedicated, committed and loyal civil servant. He is an impressive, impeccable and humble gentleman. He didn’t allow his success as an athlete, sports administrator and academic achievement to change his demeanor to work, friends or life in general
